Friends To Lose

What happens to the people left behind by those who have greatness in them? When you are great and you have no need for the people who were with you before, what happens to them?

She hadn’t meant to leave them so far behind, it had just happened the further and further up the hierarchy she got. She hadn’t used them as stepping stones, after all, they were practically family to her. They just weren’t with her most of the time anymore.

Maybe it would have been easier if she hadn’t had any friends in the first place to lose…
