How often have we eschewed
Interferences from those aloof
Saying over and over to ourselves
That this time will be different
Or otherwise ignoring the tells
Remembering naught those of our past
Yearning to forget as we try and raise the mast
Is this how time is supposed to ever go?
Seeking destruction while we always look below?
No, that cannot be the answer at all
Oh, how I wish that this wouldn’t spell our fall!
With nothing left with us to start, I pray that we won’t fall apart.
