So many people
Think there’s only one way
And they forget just what they have
Reality isn’t always the same
Voices don’t always cry out
Even when they know
Despair has fingers everywhere
“Please don’t scream anymore.”
Everyone was startled by the low words from the crouching man in the middle of the room. They hadn’t realized that he’d stopped singing the quiet lullaby to himself until that moment.
“I don’t want to know what will happen if you wake her up.”
It was his oldest friend that ventured the question they were all wanting to ask. “Wake who up, buddy?”
“The crying woman in the back of my head.”
While everyone was busy watching the ‘rare’ solar eclipse, the Scarlet Caper made off with something far more rare and valuable for its inability to be reoccurring or recoverable:
Our much vaunted Imagination!
Just because you don’t trust someone doesn’t mean you don’t care about them.
Something I realized while watching a show with my niece.
Check out the original One-Liner Wednesday.
There were times when Lila just wanted to throw up her hands in defeat, turn and then stomp away, but in the end, she never could bring herself to do it.
This was supposed to be more, but I got the one sentence out and everything else that was supposed to come after vanished like goat milk that my dogs can reach and my brain refused to give me any more.
One step up
Until it’s needed again
Not going over
Well, it’s been half a year since my nephew started playing the trumpet (he’s using my younger sister’s trumpet now and is a lot more careful than he was before, thank goodness) and he’s really sounding pretty good.
Stop doubting yourself, be bold. –Gordon Ramsey, MasterChefUS
For I have traveled so far, not knowing how I look
Even thinking that I am nothing more than a crook
And forgetting at times that I can be so much more
Reality is something that was always such a chore
And then came another
Who stood in front of me
Who I thought would criticize
But only bolstered me
My cat snores.
My dog snores.
All of my family snores.
But you know who doesn’t snore?
Not me, I also snore.
The goats. The goats don’t snore.
But the geese make all this racket in the middle of the night anyway.
When I was little (or younger than a teenager), I could not use cough drops at all. They did the exact opposite of what they were supposed to do and caused me to cough horribly and almost choke on the blasted things at the same time.
For some (wonderful) reason, I do not appear to have this problem as an adult and am very grateful for that at the moment because my body aches from coughing so hard all day yesterday until my sister got back with more medicine and a giant bag of cough drops.
Check out the original Thankful Thursday.
