Awaiting Acceptance

In May I was honored to be given one of my first blog awards since I started blogging in earnest. I was surprised, pleasantly so, as I enjoy writing, but had no experience with how awards were given or if there were ones for something other than challenges. (The first award was because I entered a challenge for a Halloween story.)

After reading through the requirements for accepting the award (which were very easy to understand and I sometimes wonder why I was so confused about them before (chuckles)) I realized that it would take me a bit of time to accept the award. Not because I couldn’t meet them, but because at the time I was having issues with how to put certain things up on my blog. Once I’d gotten that done, other things in my life started happening in a domino-like action throughout my recent life.

One of the requirements for acceptance was giving the award to others who you feel deserve it and I feel that I need to do this while I still have the time. (Because something always seems to come up if I let it sit for a bit.)

I was presented with the award from eclectic odds n sods.

So here is the award and it’s rules:

howlerawardv1 (5-5-14)

So, the rules are pretty easy for this one. If you do accept the award then:

  • Include the Award icon in your post and/or on your blog;
  • Add the link of the award presenter’s blog who awarded you & thank them
  • Give 3 examples of things you would like to see changed in the world
  • Present the  award  to 5 blogs that you enjoy (preferably those who haven’t already received this award);
  • Notify the awardees by leaving a comment on their blog  and link their blogs on your post; and
  • (optional, hey you know me by now right??) Donate the equivalent of $10 to a charity of your choice (optional because I can not check it, however it would be HIGHLY appreciated

The things that I would like to see changed in the world:

  1. Better opportunities for homeless children/adults.
  2. Better ‘help you back on your feet’ programs that ease you off of the help instead of dumping you the second you might be regaining your balance, causing you to either promptly fall flat on your face or become dependent to the ‘dole.’
  3. Governments that are responsible with the money that taxpayers contribute to the running of their country, etc. (i.e. – put that money back where it came from or so help me)
  4. Fresh water available for everyone regardless of where.

And without further ado (I love that word for some reason…ado…), here are my nominees:
