A Moment’s Thought

Low though I find myself
Only thinking with my rage
Various moments in mind’s eye
Even now, stealing wisdom sage

Letting myself get caught up
Into pain and hurt so bright
Keeping myself lost in a daze
Eve’s coming on such a sight

I spent many years being angry, so very angry to learn the lesson that you can love someone and not like them at all. I forgot the whole point of said lesson. Loving someone is about the person. Liking someone is about their actions.

#LikeAGirl – It shouldn’t be an insult

Looking after eight plus more,
I know not who else could mind this store.
Keep in mind they face pain for all their lives,
Even teach others to live while doing nothing more than survive.

God trusts women so much that He lets them bear and care for His spirit children. – Elder Neal A. Maxwell

Alone against the world and fighting to keep her children.

A mother bear is said to be the fiercest of foes. Especially when you’re after her cub.

Give them a moment and they take up time!
I know you won’t believe me, but trust the bottom line.
Remember the women who made you exist.
Let that thought stay with and your mocking desist.

When did doing something ‘like a girl’ become an insult? Women are the strongest beings on earth, in my humble opinion. Physically anyway. Who else would be able to stand an internal organ ripping itself up at least once a month? Keep in mind that this exercise is so that a woman’s body is ready for the ‘fun’ that labor is. The fact that the human race has not only survived, but thrived proves just how physically strong women are.

Like Lightning – Traces Prompt #8

Summer days and summer sighs
Underneath the dry, hot sun.
My gaze is drawn away
Melting underneath the sky.
Energy infuses my being
Right as you pass by.
Lightning flashes across the sky!
Oh! But I love a summer storm!
Voices fill the house with a blackout,
Even though we aren’t alone.

I haven’t ever had a summer romance, but I have always loved summer lightning storms even when they caused blackouts.

(Especially when they caused momentary blackouts where we got to use candles around the house because there weren’t enough flashlights.)

It’s actually storming really hard right now.

Like Christmas – Ramble-y Reminiscence 1

After we first moved into the duplex, my sister was able to buy a brand new washing machine and dryer. We have never had a new one in the entirety of our lives, child and adult, until this moment. When she first showed them to me, they were white and shiny and new.

“It’s like Christmas!” I exclaimed and hugged the machines.

(Don’t judge me, they were beautiful.)

(Or judge me, I don’t really care all that much.)

This was something that I often forgot, however, so my sister would take me to look at them every time I had a memory blank.

“It’s like Christmas!” I would exclaim all over again and hug the machines as if I had never seen them before.

She enjoyed this display so much, my sister would take every opportunity to show them to me whenever I forgot that we had moved to the duplex.

I wonder if any who read this have had some kind of similar event in their lives. Not the memory blank, but the same feeling of surprised joy every time they saw something or someone.
