A mighty moment rules all,
In the same way I am a tree.
I feel the bite of the wind,
Listen to the howling of my mind
And taste the sweetness of the sap.
The scent of my morning glory is divine
And I watch the upward journey of the vines.
And yet, the sound of colors surrounds me,
Causing the dissolution of my sight.
I call out to God
And wonder why I’ve lost the way Home.
I am no longer a tree, but a coffin,
Built for nothing more than to rot.
Yet the growth of flowers surrounds me.
My life seems to be nothing but a metaphor
Which shows that surviving is hopelessly sought
By those who would despair of your garden
Seeing that nothing will ever change if it is attempted.
Because life is more than just saying
The moving tree of intangibility.
The sunset’s gaze shows me how I should proceed.
The tree within me takes flight,
The roots of it trailing behind as a bridal veil.
Mattie continues her walk through the mirrored hall,
Knowing that soon the pictures will be clear in meaning
The mirror will no longer be blinding.
Soon I shall find the end of the Mirrored House
And know what it is to be the flying tree.
“Оставьте и я буду плакать,”
Says the Earth below as she reaches out for me.
I continue to glide away
Not knowing of what comes my way.
Because the tree, with roots like a bridal veil
Continues it’s flight throughout the sky above,
Knowing that it will someday find it’s Home.
She was surprised,
Unfolding before her was a
Picture pops and
I find it was random.
So I know it was magical,
Even the occasion needed it.
Random act of God?
Random act of kindness?
Inclement weather will not stop,
Because it didn’t go according to plan.
It was wonderful for it.
Walk this way, don’t turn astray
And you shall surely find your way.
Laugh and sing and dance
Keep your heart open for a chance.
Weather will come and change quite quickly.
Always remember that life will swallow you thickly
Yet inside, you will always hold a spark of light.
And never forget, it wasn’t put there for spite.
Others have walked this way aplenty,
Never fearing that they were acting the fool,
Because in life, no one is a tool.
So walk this way and never forget,
Life isn’t through with death just yet.
So though the snow may fall,
God still loves us all.
You sleep in bed all morning long,
Waiting till the last to join the throng.
You say you got to bed quite late,
And that is why the rest must wait.
So every five minutes you hit the snooze
Because your sleep you don’t want to lose.
Well that will change sometime soon
Because you see, we have a boon.
You shall awake because it’s late
And I shall not continue to wait;

Written in honor of my sister’s kids every morning that they don’t have school. They’d sleep until 1:00 pm if I let them. The picture is of my cat, Usako.
At first, there was nothing.
At first, there was everything.
At first, there was one.
At first, there was no distinction.
Then, there was something.
Then, there was everything.
Then, there were two.
Then, there was separation.
And then, there was pain.
And then, there was suffering.
And then, there was despair.
And then, there was loneliness.
But then, there was someone
But then, there was another.
But then, there was change.
But then, there was a future.
For the first time…
For the first time, she wasn’t alone.
For the first time, she knew there was more.
For the first time, she wasn’t afraid.
For the first time, she had hope.
The walls came down, down, down
All over town.
There were cries to stop, stop, stop
But no one ever would drop.
There was never an end,
Everyone was around the bend.
And though I would try my best,
In the end, I too went West.
For this country that once was mine
Now is only thine;
For we did not appreciate
What we had, until too late.
