Farewell – Day Thirty

So another month has come and past
Only now I realize I thought it’d last.
Each moment is an eternity!
Little moments, one by one, have come
Or have they been here all along?
Now that things are at an end,
Great times we’ve had, my friend!

Written for the last prompt of NaPoWriMo this year: http://www.napowrimo.net/2014/04/day-30-2/

It’s been a wonderful ride, ladies and gentlemen! I hope y’all have enjoyed it as well as I have.

Leave and I will Cry – Day Twenty-Nine

A mighty moment rules all,
In the same way I am a tree.
I feel the bite of the wind,
Listen to the howling of my mind
And taste the sweetness of the sap.
The scent of my morning glory is divine
And I watch the upward journey of the vines.

And yet, the sound of colors surrounds me,
Causing the dissolution of my sight.
I call out to God
And wonder why I’ve lost the way Home.
I am no longer a tree, but a coffin,
Built for nothing more than to rot.
Yet the growth of flowers surrounds me.

My life seems to be nothing but a metaphor
Which shows that surviving is hopelessly sought
By those who would despair of your garden
Seeing that nothing will ever change if it is attempted.
Because life is more than just saying
The moving tree of intangibility.
The sunset’s gaze shows me how I should proceed.

The tree within me takes flight,
The roots of it trailing behind as a bridal veil.
Mattie continues her walk through the mirrored hall,
Knowing that soon the pictures will be clear in meaning
The mirror will no longer be blinding.
Soon I shall find the end of the Mirrored House
And know what it is to be the flying tree.

“Оставьте и я буду плакать,”
Says the Earth below as she reaches out for me.
I continue to glide away
Not knowing of what comes my way.
Because the tree, with roots like a bridal veil
Continues it’s flight throughout the sky above,
Knowing that it will someday find it’s Home.

Whew! That was hard, but totally worth it!

Surprise Just Right – Day Twenty-Eight

She was surprised,
Unfolding before her was a
Romantic moment.
Picture pops and
I find it was random.
So I know it was magical,
Even the occasion needed it.

Random act of God?
Random act of kindness?
Inclement weather will not stop,
Because it didn’t go according to plan.
It was wonderful for it.

This gave me a bit more trouble, but I’m still pleased with how it came out.

Walkway – Day Twenty-Seven

Walk this way, don’t turn astray
And you shall surely find your way.
Laugh and sing and dance
Keep your heart open for a chance.
Weather will come and change quite quickly.
Always remember that life will swallow you thickly
Yet inside, you will always hold a spark of light.

And never forget, it wasn’t put there for spite.

Others have walked this way aplenty,
Never fearing that they were acting the fool,
Because in life, no one is a tool.
So walk this way and never forget,
Life isn’t through with death just yet.

So though the snow may fall,
God still loves us all.

And because I’m just so happy today!

Layabouts – Day Twenty-Six

You sleep in bed all morning long,
Waiting till the last to join the throng.
You say you got to bed quite late,
And that is why the rest must wait.
So every five minutes you hit the snooze
Because your sleep you don’t want to lose.

Well that will change sometime soon
Because you see, we have a boon.
You shall awake because it’s late
And I shall not continue to wait;

Wake up!

Written in honor of my sister’s kids every morning that they don’t have school. They’d sleep until 1:00 pm if I let them. The picture is of my cat, Usako.

At First… – Day Twenty-Five

At first…

At first, there was nothing.
At first, there was everything.
At first, there was one.
At first, there was no distinction.

Then…

Then, there was something.
Then, there was everything.
Then, there were two.
Then, there was separation.

And then…

And then, there was pain.
And then, there was suffering.
And then, there was despair.
And then, there was loneliness.

But then…

But then, there was someone
But then, there was another.
But then, there was change.
But then, there was a future.

For the first time…

For the first time, she wasn’t alone.
For the first time, she knew there was more.
For the first time, she wasn’t afraid.
For the first time, she had hope.

Not too sure how well I did to sticking to the prompt, but this is what came out and this is what I wrote.

Too Late – Day Twenty-Four

The walls came down, down, down
All over town.
There were cries to stop, stop, stop
But no one ever would drop.

There was never an end,
Everyone was around the bend.
And though I would try my best,
In the end, I too went West.

For this country that once was mine
Now is only thine;
For we did not appreciate
What we had, until too late.

Remember Fear – Day Twenty-Two

My little child, don’t come near
Of what awaits you that you fear.
Did you know that it keeps you safe
Until your parent comes and takes?
So keep in mind your fears today.

Only remember this as well
Poor choices that will make you ill.
Except you know when to stay or go
Rarely will you move at all.
And know that I was once there too
Not knowing precisely what to do.
Don’t let fear control your path
It’s only there to remind you of wrath.

Written for two different prompts that I enjoy:

NaPoWriMo – http://www.napowrimo.net/2014/04/day-22-2/

Dungeon Prompts – http://theseekersdungeon.com/2014/04/17/dungeon-prompts-season-2-week-16-our-hidden-modus-operandi/

This is something I would like my nieces and nephews to remember. Fear is there are a warning, something that you should pay heed to but also remember that you shouldn’t let it control you.

Crumpled Words – Day Twenty-One

It had been a very long time since she had been happy. She wasn’t even certain if she knew what the word meant anymore. With a sigh she crumpled the paper in front of her and tossed it to the side. A few pen strokes were visible despite the ball the paper was in the shape of.

Happiness is just a word,
A sense of self that I lack
Something I wish to get back.

Yet I lack the strength
To cross the depths of the ford
And find my way forward.

Written for two different purposes today. The first is for NaPoWriMo and only includes the poem part, though I didn’t use the prompt this time (http://www.napowrimo.net/2014/04/day-21-2/). The second is for a new challenge from someone that I’ve been following recently and have enjoyed reading her various posts: http://suzie81speaks.com/2014/04/21/weekly-word-challenge-happy/

I hope that this day has found people well. I have not slept since Saturday night and I feel so very floaty…

Joyous Day – Day Twenty

Push and shove
Shouts from above!
Fall and dive,
For mayhem strive.

Patience we’ll test
Because we’re the best;
And laughter you’ll find
When eating the rind.

What a sight!

Eyes full of light

With disheveled hair;
We’re full of flare.

These children I see
Have become a part of me.
Never to be left alone
Within my very crowded home.

Written for today’s NaPoWriMo prompt: http://www.napowrimo.net/2014/04/day-twenty/

I’m sitting and listening to the children carouse about the house and yard, all hopped up on Easter candy. It is a beautiful day to learn of the resurrection of Christ and to listen to the sounds of my family while they celebrate. Today is joyous for me.
