It happened at sunrise on Christmas morn,
The children were sleeping
At first, quite soundly.
Then there came the sound of feet
Running down stairs,
Or was it up?
I was sleeping soundly,
And so only heard it distantly.
Not soundly enough, though,
As I heard a shout.
“I told you kids not to open ALL the presents!
Just the ones with your names on them!”
Oh dear!!!haha!! great poem:)

Yeah, we were all sad to have slept in, because it was hard to tell what belonged to who.

I remember those early mornngs…so hard to get up since I’d get to bed after 3am to ensure Santa’s gifts were placed just right and not too early in the evening incase the kids got up

Yeah, I remember doing that by myself one year (it was complicated and I can’t even remember why I was the only adult able to do it, there were like, four of us…) and the tree kept falling over. I was about to burn that thing to a crisp just so it would stop falling over and I could prop it up against the wall successfully. *laughs*

Ahaha too funny! I was always alone…my ex would fall asleep watching tv…then go to bed..never helped; my mom came often and would watch…lol but kept me company and all along saying I spoiled the kids too much. It would take me a year to pay off my credit card.

Doing that every year by yourself? *is impressed* You’re secretly one of those supermoms, aren’t you?

No just in the wrong marriage for too long…not anymore. I guess I did the superwoman thingee until I had a burnout…work, university, volunteering, family…that done did it. Now i`m lazy and enjoy it.

Sounds about right for most of the supermoms I know. Even when everything’s going wrong they try to give a little bit more magic to their children. Probably one of the biggest causes of burnout in parents worldwide.
Enjoy your lazy days. You’ve more than earned them!

I do work full time and love my job and writing…and reading…and yes, volunteer too but I live alone so no one to tend to. This is lazy for what I`ve done in the past.

*shrugs* Things are different for each person. Lazy for one person is still a lot for another. Either way, you are doing things that you enjoy and just because you want to. That can be considered lazy by some no matter what they are.

yep…doing what I have a passion for and not feeling guilty…I`ve learned to say `no` the hard way.

Is there an easy way to learn to say ‘no’ when needed?

I love the prompts you give. When I saw that title this memory jumped to the front of my mind and I knew I had to write about it. *grins*

As for the posting time, I’ve noticed that WP seems to change the dates where I am around 4pm. Doesn’t really make sense to me. Wonder what time they use?
