Irony

She watches on as feet end up pointing at the sky,
Laughter trying not to burst forth.
Inside she’s wondering just why
Pup’s the one to take the slide.

I just realized that though Sissy and I take walks in the icy morning she’s always the one to slip while me, the slow, lumbering woman with a cane and constant vertigo is just fine.

  1. That’s a nice poem. You wondered why the “slow, lumbering woman with a cane” (you) doesn’t slip as often as often as Sissy. I am also a slow, lumbering old woman with a cane (notice I added the “old”) I think it’s because of just that, we are more careful, looking where we put our feet, at least I think that’s the reason why for me.
